Seeking Glue-free and Plastic-free closure of paper packaging

We are looking for a technology to seal paper packaging materials (paper only with no plastic coating) without using traditional glues or any other additive. For a sustainable packaging application, we're looking for a technology to seal or crimp kraft paper without using glue or plastic coating applied on the paper. Ideally, we want to seal 100% untreated paper without adding any other chemicals. Our preferred solution would be a folding of the packaging material

The researchers of the University have developed a wind flow concentrator incorporated into a Vertical Axe Wind (VAWT), which allows a significant increase in wind speed before being injected to the turbine. The system allows the optimization of the currents with independence of its direction and it is applicable to any type of VAWT. It is suitable for any type of building.

Zagblade: Reduction of aero acoustic pollution by introducing novel serrated trailing edges

An aerofoil blade design that reduces trailing edge noise by means of a saw-tooth serration filled with a porous material. The serration and porous material work constructively with each other to significantly improve the aero-acoustic performance. An optimal choice of the porous materials has been identified, where it can achieve broadband noise reduction whilst completely suppressing the vortex shedding tone. This new device is more industrially-ready than the conventional “add-on” type serration due to its superior structural integrity. In addition it produces an aerodynamic performance similar to that of the baseline aerofoil. Applicable to a wide range from applications from drones, UAVs, aircraft engines, wind turbines and fan blades.
